ISCI #2 - November 11 - 14, 2004

On November 11, 2004, a band of Jesus Christ's apostles entered the gate of ISCI with the love of Jesus in their hearts to share that love with the residents chosen by Jesus to be on the weekend.  28 men of ISCI attended the course and Jesus Christ as the Team Leader took the men of ISCI and the team on a great journey closer to him.

In order to facilitate interdependence, the 28 men were divided into 5 tables with 3 team members (one clergy and two lay) each at each table.  The tables were named after saints, i.e. Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, and Paul.  The table grouping became a "family" and the men found themselves becoming a family to each other.  During the weekend this "family" found themselves supporting each other spiritually through prayer and sharing.

Our thanks to all who supported ISCI #2 with prayers, outside support, written agape and green agape.  Only by your efforts did this weekend become a reality and allow the 28 men of ISCI to find Jesus Christ is a special way.

This time of year in Idaho fog rolls in during the evening hours and hangs around most of the night until the sun (if any) burns it off the next day.  We continuously had the fear that fog would stop all activities.  In the prison restricted visibility usually means nobody moves.  We had fog every morning and evening except for Sunday.  Through the grace of God and the help of the ISCI Correctional Officers, we lost not one minute on the weekend due to the Men in Blue being held in the units and not allowed to move.  Our thanks to the Correctional Officers of ISCI who helped make the moves possible.

During the weekend we we blessed with visits from Deputy Warden Keith Yordy, Warden Randy Blades, Lieutenants and Sergeants from the yard.  Their presence allowed the Men in Blue to understand the support for Kairos is there from the prison staff.

Monthly Reunions are held at ISCI the second Monday of each month in the Chapel.

On ISCI#2 we were so blessed to have Men in Blue as servants to their brothers in the Community Room.  This was another first for ISCI.  Those residents who served as servants provided the absolute image of what it means to be a servant.  They waited on the Community Room during breaks and meals and while talks were going on they would be in the Chapel area reading the same talk that was being given in the Community Room and praying for the speaker and the resident who were listening.
