Listen, Listen, Love, Love
|
Idaho State Correction Institution (ISCI) #1 ISCI is Idaho Department of Corrections oldest and largest facility. It is the primary facility for long-term male, medium-custody offenders. It also has special-use beds for infirmary, outpatient mental health and geriatric offenders. The compound includes a chapel, recreation center, school, large correctional industries operation and a medical clinic. From left: Religious Activities Coordinator Darrell Taylor, Warden Randy Blades, Deputy Warden Michael Johnson and Kairos State Chairman Marvin Barnes meet to decide on weekend date. On March 11, 2004, a band of Jesus Christ's apostles entered the gate of ISCI with the love of Jesus in their hearts to share that love with the residents chosen by Jesus to be on the weekend. 41 men of ISCI attended the course and Jesus Christ as the Team Leader took the men of ISCI and the team on a great journey closer to him. In order to facilitate interdependence, the 41 men were divided into 7 tables with 3 team members (one clergy and two lay) each at each table. The tables were named after saints, i.e. Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, James, Paul and Peter. The table grouping became a "family" and the men found themselves becoming a family to each other. During the weekend this "family" found themselves supporting each other spiritually through prayer and sharing. Our thanks to all who supported ISCI #1 with prayers, cookies, outside support written agape and green agape. Only by your efforts did this weekend become a reality and allow the 41 men of ISCI to find Jesus Christ is a special way. A special thanks to the men and woman from Arizona who came up to help make #1 so special. Monthly Reunions are held at ISCI the second Monday of each month in the Chapel. |
